Rick Reiter
Rick is the founding Pastor of the Church of the Free, where he has served as the lead Pastor for over 13 years.
Rick is a gifted teacher who makes the Bible applicable to life and easy to understand. Many at the Church of the Free have commented they learned more about having a personal relationship with God in one year of attending the Church of the Free than from decades of attending other churches. Rick’s passion is to help everyone experience God’s heart for them and His presence and learn how to apply the scriptures to our lives to experience true transformation.
Rick earned a Master’s of Divinity from Multnomah Biblical Seminary, where he was awarded the Faculty Award for Spiritual Life.
While his seminary education was in Portland, OR, his roots are here in Fairfax, VA. He grew up here, attending Oakton High School and George Mason University.
Outside of the Church of the Free, Rick is a sought-after conference speaker, mentor, and spiritual coach.
He has the ability to speak to all ages, which comes from his vast ministerial experiences from Young Life, and pastoral roles with College students, Young Adults, and Discipleship. He also leads a men’s group composed of men primarily in their 50s, 60s, and 70s. Regardless of age, Rick makes the Bible come to life and easy to apply.
Rick enjoys all sports, hiking, history, and travel. He also loves to spend time with his family and doing things his son loves. An example of this is that his son loves to dress up in costumes… you’ll often find the two of them walking the dog as Spiderman and Chewbacca.
Rick and his wife live in Herndon, VA, with their son.
Melissa Reiter
Melissa has served and led in worship ministry and global missions for over 25 years and she’s passionate for people to encounter God’s presence and power in worship. One of her greatest desires is to see God’s kingdom manifest so that people can know Christ, be set free, to live out their true identity, be healed, and transformed as they experience the love of God. After graduating from Liberty University in 1997, she discovered another passion of hers – overseas missions. A life-changing experience in India ignited her love for other cultures and to see every tribe, tongue, and nation know the one true God and propelled her forward as she’s served or led overseas missions teams to over 25 countries since 1998. She’s married to her best friend, Rick Reiter, and believes God saved his very best for last with this one! Well, that was until they had their son in 2018!
Dave Koury
David Koury grew up in Fairfax attending Robinson Secondary and St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He is a graduate of Virginia Tech, where he majored in accounting and played soccer. He is a CPA and has worked as an accountant in the non-profit industry for the last thirteen years. He is certified through Crown Financial as a Money Map Coach, and has a passion for helping others get financially free. David and his wife Melissa live in Clifton with their 2 adorable children. When not playing with his kids and spending time with his wife Dave enjoys running, reading, taking notes and is a fan of most sports.
Chris Hanger
Chris Hanger grew up in Swoope, VA. He is a graduate of Bridgewater College where he recieved a bachelors in Health and Exercise Science. After graduating Chris moved to Fairfax, VA, and currently works as a personal trainer at Lifetime Fitness. Chris loves to pray with people and see what God wants to do to bring emotional, physical, and spiritual healing. Chris married the love of his life, Katie, in 2014.
Chris Dominic
Chris Dominick grew up in Fairfax, attending Robinson Secondary. He is a graduate of Virginia Tech and moved back to the area after receiving his bachelor’s degree. For the past 27 years, Chris has been one of the premier real estate agents in our area. While real estate is a passion what really drives Chris is his relationship with Jesus and helping fill tangible needs so people can receive the message of Jesus. When not selling real estate you’ll find Chris pouring his time into the Last Well. An organization that drills wells and provides other water solutions in Liberia with the goal of bringing clean drinking water to the entire country, a mission they recently completed!! Now they are expanding the mission to other nations around the globe. Chris also loves to help people discover how God’s word shapes all areas of our lives. He teaches our financial freedom classes and serves on the Executive Leadership Team.
